Phase 1 Restoration began on October 2, 2021 with a team of restoration volunteers led by Ken Bowman, retired Historic Preservation Carpenter for the National Park Service.
Removed:
Debris and non-salvageable items
Non-original closest, bathrooms, and walls
Non-original siding, fireplace, & chimney
Non-original addition and exterior doors
Old insulation and rotted flooring
Restored room and original chimney by Homeland Building & Design
Repaired rotted sill plates
Restored and painted the original siding
Investigated and determined the original floor plan
Rebuilt walls and doorways to match original layout
Installed new HVAC, electric service, gas service, and electrical wiring
