Richfield Community Day
August 8, 2021 - Noon to 5:00 p.m.
Richfield Woods Park
4100 Broadview Road, Richfield, OH 44286
Stop by our table to learn about the historic Oviatt House and its ties to the Underground Railroad - a secret system established to help fugitive slaves on their journey to freedom.
Preservation experts will be on-hand to show you how the house was dated and tied back to the 1800s.
Kid’s will enjoy making their own quilt block. Quilts were used as signs to instruct the escaping slaves on how to prepare for the escape, what to do on the journey, and where to go.
Additional quilt block kits will be offered for sale along with mini tic-tac-toe games. Experts believe the name tic-tac-toe came about sometime in the 1800s.
